Srinagar, January 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) has initiated an inquiry to address allegations of discrepancies in the recently declared results of the JKP Constable Telecommunication examination.
Speaking to Edugraph.in, JKSSRB Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib confirmed the Board’s decision to probe the matter. “The members have been tasked with a thorough investigation. We have given them a specific timeframe to complete the inquiry,” she said. “Let us see what comes out of it.”
The decision follows serious concerns raised by aspirants over the transparency of the selection process. Candidates alleged irregularities, pointing out that some individuals who performed well in the Telecommunication and Photography exams had fared poorly in the earlier JKP (Executive/Armed/SDRF) papers, raising questions about the evaluation process.
The controversy has sparked political reactions. PDP leader Iltija Mufti criticized the JKSSRB, accusing it of jeopardizing the future of J&K’s youth. In a post on her X handle, she alleged, “Massive discrepancies in the JKP Telecommunications exam wherein toppers fared poorly in the previously held constable exams. The government that rose to power by making lofty promises has conveniently washed its hands of any accountability.”

Responding to the criticism, National Conference spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar accused the PDP of creating unnecessary controversies. “Rather than addressing the matter with the Lieutenant Governor, PDP leaders are resorting to half-baked statements to stir controversy,” he said. Dar further alleged that the PDP was responsible for past scams during its tenure in alliance with the BJP.
The inquiry initiated by the JKSSRB is expected to shed light on the allegations and provide clarity to the aspirants awaiting resolution.
